Dole NZ are members of the Soft Plastics Recycling Scheme and have supplied MG
Auckland with one of their bins. You may have spotted them at supermarkets and
Warehouse stores.

Why is this a good idea?

  1. The soft plastics scheme greatly reduces the amount of plastic in the environment and diverts it away from landfill.
  2. This initiative aligns with the goals we have set as part of the MG Sustainability Roadmap.
  3. Supports Dole NZ and their commitment to their new Dole Promise sustainability programme.

What happens to the soft plastic?
Through a great piece of Kiwi ingenuity, the plastic is used by a company called Future Posts to manufacture fence posts and other products.

A company called Second Life Plastics also uses the soft plastic to make ducting for cables, buckets and even waterslides!

When is it coming?

Now available at our Auckland branch and will be rolled out in our Christchurch branch later this year.
