At the start of June 2019 MG wrote to all shareholders advising of the retirement by rotation of Alan Thompson and Mike Russell, noting that they were both standing for re-election and called for any other nominations to be submitted to the Company Secretary by 5.00 pm on 30 June 2019. The period for nominations closed and there was one additional valid nomination received being Trudi Webb. In the interim, Alan Thompson resigned from his MG directorship with effect from 5.00 pm on 28 June 2019. As a result of there being two people standing / validly nominated for the two positions available, Mike Russell and Trudi Webb will, in accordance with the constitution, be declared automatically re-elected/elected at the 2019 AGM and no election ballot is required. You will also be aware that Trudi Webb has been an Intern Director on the MG Board for the last 18 months with her term having finished on 30 June 2019. As Alan Thompson’s resignation creates a casual vacancy on the MG board until the November 2019 AGM, the remaining MG board has unanimously voted to appoint Trudi Webb to fill the casual vacancy. Trudi has accepted the appointment and we look forward to her continuing contribution to MG.
